Lifetime Gifts of Chattels

I have an estate where there is a disagreement whether a car that was bought by the deceased and given to his partner to use for work and leisure was actually a gift by the deceased to his partner. The V5C was never transferred into the partner’s name but she was taken to the garage as a surprise to collect the car and was handed the keys.
I recall i saw an article in a STEP newsletter recently about a case on this very matter in which the court decided that handing over the keys was sufficient delivery to evidence the gift, but cannot find that article.
Any thoughts?
