Joint- tenant kills other registered joint tenant

Seeking assistance of members:
wife and husband registered as joint-tenants on title to property. Husband kills wife then kills himself a day after.

Would the death of the wife trigger the rule of survivorship resulting in the property falling to the husband given that said triggering of the rule was due to his wrongdoing/crime. Would the general principle apply that a person should bot be allowed to benefit from his wrongdoing and can said principle apply without a courts ruling on the matter?

There is no statute governing this situation in my jurisdiction.
